North Hykeham Youth Centre - RELOAD
On the evening of Wednesday 7th February, the North Hykeham Youth Centre had a visit from HTG-UK.
The members of the Reload Youth Centre in North Hykeham, Lincoln were ready to take on First Aid with Paul Brummitt & Karen Hutchinson; and teach them a thing or two!!
North Hykeham Youth Club runs on a Wednesday night between 6pm and 7.30pm.
The group ranges from 8 to 15 year olds and will take part in as many events organised for them by the volunteers that run the sessions as they can.
Paul and Karen attended to give the group an insight into FIRST AID.
Karen started the session with a brief history and ‘what we do’ talk about HTG-UK and then passed over to Paul to go through the First Aid.
The group were very knowledgeable about CPR and enjoyed the dummy and defibrillator work.
The youths had answers for all of the questions asked - we found out that their Primary and Secondary Schools in the area are undertaking First Aid teaching, which is very positive progress.
The defibrillator part of the session was extremely popular and ALL of the youths took part wholeheartedly, and confidently.
