HTG-UK awarded five-year NEPTS contract for Suffolk & NorthEast Essex (SNEE)

We are delighted to announce that HTG-UK has been awarded the new contract to operate non-emergency patient transport services across Suffolk & NorthEast Essex following a comprehensive and competitive tender process.

HTG-UK will deliver a full range of patient transport services, from renal and outpatient journeys, to discharges and HDU transport completing circa 165,000 journeys annually for the Suffolk & Northeast Essex patient population.

HTG-UK continues to demonstrate the excellent progress we have made as an organisation, with the successful mobilisation of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly contract in July 2024 and the Norfolk & Waveney contract in October 2024."

Derek added: “Winning another major contract further solidifies our position in the market as one of the UK's leading providers, whilst demonstrating our commitment to safety and exceptional patient care. It was particularly disappointing to have been selected as the preferred bidder 2 years ago, to have the tender process abandoned, so this will make us extra determined to provide an excellent service.

With our current footprint including both Norfolk, Waveney and Mid & South Essex this success was strategically important for HTG-UK but more importantly will provide significant benefits to patients and our stakeholders.

From a personal perspective, having spent my early years in both Suffolk and latterly Colchester I am really looking forward to getting started in supporting our mobilisation of the contract.''

HTG-UK will begin mobilisation work with commissioners immediately, in preparation for the contract launch in April 2026. Based on our recent experiences with the contracts in Norfolk & Waveney and Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly, we are confident we will quickly deliver significant service improvements for the patient population and healthcare partners in Suffolk and NorthEast Essex.

Thank you to all colleagues across the business for your continued dedication in providing caring, high-quality transport for our patients. As we continue to grow and develop as a company, it’s all the more important we remain laser-focused on our core values in delivering great care.

The contract is currently operated by EMED (Suffolk) and the East of England Ambulance NHS trust (NorthEast Essex).

The new contract with HTG-UK will commence Wednesday 1st April 2026
