Backed by Spanish Parent Group, HTGROUP Completes Third 2026 Acquisition to Build Unified UK and Ireland Healthcare Mobility Network.

Health Transportation Group, already a leading pan-European operator of healthcare mobility infrastructure and services, has agreed to acquire a 75% stake in Lifeline Ambulance Service Limited, Ireland’s leading independent ambulance provider.

This transaction marks our third strategic acquisition in 2026, delivering on a unified healthcare mission across the British Isles. Following the integrations of Devon-based First Care Ambulance and Stockton-on-Tees-based CIPHER Medical earlier this year, the addition of Lifeline cements the Group’s operational scale, capacity, and clinical excellence across both the UK and Ireland.

Stability Backed by Spanish Parent Group

As statutory healthcare commissioners and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) navigate intense demand, partnering with financially viable operators has become essential. HTG’s operations in the UK and Ireland are directly backed by our parent company in Spain, providing health authorities with unmatched long-term stability and counterparty security.

HTG generated €374 million in annual revenues in 2025 (up from €348 million in 2024) and is supported by a premier consortium of infrastructure investors led by Real Assets Investment Management (RAIM), alongside Equitix and GCM Grosvenor. Operating nearly 3,000 vehicles and employing 8,000 patient transport professionals across Spain, Portugal, the UK, and Ireland, the Group delivers more than 6 million missions every year. This international foundation secures continuous fleet reinvestment, digital innovation, and centralised procurement, insulating frontline services from supply disruptions and ensuring dependable contract delivery.

Unifying Three 2026 Acquisitions into an End-to-End Platform

The trio of acquisitions completed this year establishes a cohesive healthcare transport network capable of handling routine transfers through to critical interventions. Devon-based First Care Ambulance established an expanded patient transport and discharge footprint in the Southwest, while Stockton-on-Tees-based CIPHER Medical added high-dependency inter-facility moves, rapid-response pre-hospital capabilities, and accredited education services.

The addition of Lifeline Ambulance Service brings an 81-vehicle fleet operating across 11 nationwide bases in Ireland, including 8 specialist transplant vehicles. As the exclusive provider of organ transplant transport in the Republic of Ireland, Lifeline operates under the highest clinical response protocols, serving the Health Service Executive (HSE) alongside delivering nationwide Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training.

Structured as a long-term partnership, Lifeline founder David Hall retains a 25% shareholding and continues as Chief Executive Officer, combining trusted local leadership and clinical dedication with HTG’s pan-European scale.
