Safety, Quality and Clinical Governance
At HTG‑UK, safety, quality and strong clinical governance underpin everything we do. Our Executive Board sets strategic direction and ensures our services remain safe, effective and fully compliant with clinical, operational, financial and regulatory standards.
We operate a robust governance framework supported by our Board Assurance processes, enabling risks to be identified, monitored and acted on early. Learning from incidents, audits and service developments is routinely shared, and we use proven quality‑improvement methods to enhance patient outcomes and service reliability.
Our governance structure includes specialist groups that provide focused oversight. The Quality & Clinical Governance Group monitors patient safety, CQC compliance, safeguarding, infection prevention and control, incident management, complaints, audits and key performance indicators. Policies are regularly updated in line with national guidance, and our teams receive ongoing training to maintain high standards.
We follow the principles of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF), prioritising learning over blame. Incident reviews focus on understanding what happened, why it happened and how systems can be improved. We encourage openness, psychological safety and meaningful involvement of staff, patients and families.
Our Health & Safety Committee oversees workplace safety, while our EPRR Delivery Group ensures preparedness, resilience and continuity. Clear accountability, executive oversight and transparent reporting ensure strong, consistent governance across all services.
