Founded in 1989 and originally operating as Thames Ambulance Service, HTG-UK has grown to become one of the UK’s leading Non-Emergency Patient Transport Providers.

In the 35 years proudly serving our patients and the NHS a lot has changed, but what has remained consistent is our commitment to authenticity, compassion and relationships. We have discovered the foundation to our success lies in the strength of our connections — with our patients, our staff, our stakeholders and our Care Boards (ICBs) and NHS Trust partners. Together, striving for the delivery of exceptional care in every aspect of our service.

Every decision we make, whether on the road or in the boardroom, is guided by these core values. We are selective and dedicated to working with partners who also share our commitment to these principles.

Our stability, commitment to and delivery of safety and exceptional care has built trust and reliance in the market. Reflected in our successful launch of nine major Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) contracts in the last seven years.

This includes recent contracts in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and Norfolk and Waveney in 2024. We are also the provider of choice to deliver patient transport in Suffolk and North East Essex from April 2026.

HTG-UK, is part of HTG-Group, the second largest patient transport provider in Europe, providing our UK service with a robust resilience and depth of expertise our ICB and NHS partners expect.
